Bernd Mechsner has worked in the engineering, process and business development areas of the biotechnology industry for over 20 years. He has led teams for the design, construction and operation of biotech facilities of up to 90,000 liter for cell culture and up to 1.5 million liters for microbial fermentation, in many countries around the globe, with a focus in Asia. He is recognized as an expert in biotech facility design and in the design of cultivation systems for various microbes, mammalian cells and in particular for the production of biologicals including vaccines. In addition, he has taken a leading role in several biotech start-up companies, one of which is a well known and highly successful producer of generic pharmaceuticals in China. |
